-Jean Côté, Preface, The Athletic Skills Model
“Until I was 12 or 13, I played more baseball than I did golf. I played also football, basketball and soccer. As a result, I learned how to be a teammate, learned how to fall in love with golf as an athlete who plays golf versus a golfer who tries to be an athlete.”
-Jordan Speith, New York Times, 2015
“All Olympians from the U.S. were very active as children and adolescents. Until the age of 14 years, they participated in 2.6 to 3.5 different sports.”
